Why NEET matters for a degree abroad
If you plan to return and practise in India, Indian regulations apply to you — not only the rules of the country where you study. A qualifying NEET-UG result is one of the requirements Indian students are expected to meet before starting a foreign medical degree.
What changes every year
- The qualifying percentile and the matching score are announced with each year's results.
- The validity period of a NEET result for foreign admission can be revised.
- Category-wise thresholds differ.
Medgo's eligibility check uses an illustrative threshold so it can give you an instant answer. Always confirm the current figure on the official National Testing Agency NEET-UG site.
Other requirements to check alongside NEET
- Your Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology aggregate against the minimum for your category.
- English passed as a subject.
- Your age on 31 December of the admission year.
- That the programme is taught in English and includes the required internship and duration.
How Medgo uses your score
Your NEET score feeds two factors in the Match Score: eligibility (is it qualifying?) and, for some universities, a screening score. A score below a university's screening level is shown as a condition, not a rejection, because many universities interview instead.
